NATIVES consolidates its partnership with Life Terra, Europe’s largest organisation promoting tree conservation and planting

Life Terra is one of the largest climate action initiatives in Europe. Led by the Life Terra Foundation, it brings together 15 expert organisations from 8 countries.

Life Terra is based on the knowledge that tree planting is one of the most cost-effective nature-based solutions for sequestering carbon. As part of a multidisciplinary mitigation strategy, tree planting plays an essential role in the fight against climate change and the devastation it causes (heat waves, droughts, loss of biodiversity, desertification, erosion, floods, etc.). Life Terra is intended to be the link that drives citizens to plant 500 million trees in Europe. By harnessing and monitoring the mechanism that nature already uses to sequester carbon, Life Terra enables citizens to take urgent action against the climate crisis.

Life Terra makes available to all NATIVES Schools:

– Terra Mission: the Life Terra educational kit, available in 7 languages: English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Greek and soon in French. This kit contains multiple educational resources on 8 sustainability topics (climate change, circular economy, water, trees, etc.) that teachers can apply in the classroom and beyond in a practical and interactive way. It contains videos, games, outdoor activity ideas and a teacher’s handbook.

– Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for Teachers, Teaching Sustainability for Action: All materials are accessible online to any teacher who wants to learn how to better integrate Terra Mission into their classrooms and take climate action with their students.
